Construction crane falls on van in West Philadelphia; three men injured

Three men are critically injured and recovering at the hospital after they fell off a crane and tumbled approximately two stories down.

Philadelphia Police say the incident occurred at 12:52 p.m. when a “Cherry picker” crane fell off the building construction site on the 4400 block of Moravian St and fell on the van.

Two of the men were taken to Presbyterian Hospital, in critical condition and the third man was taken to Lankenau Hospital, where he remains in extremely critical condition.

At this time it is not clear what caused the crane to topple over.
