Athletes to climb Rocky Steps to help local cancer patients

This weekend PHL24 is taking place at the Philadelphia Museum of Art steps.

Participating athletes will run up and down the steps for 24 continuous hours. Proceeds will go to local charity Legacy of Hope .

“Legacy of Hope is an organization that supports cancer patients who are going through hard times. Who are too sick to work and having difficulty with the simplest things,” said Gina Mancuso, Executive Committee Member of Legacy of Hope.

Legacy of Hope is aiming to raise $250,000 from the PHL24 event. Last year’s event allowed the organization to do some wonderful things.

“We purchased and renovated a home in West Philadelphia that now serves as free short-term housing for cancer patients,” said Michael Rowe, CEO of Legacy of Hope.

PHL24 will kick-off Saturday, September 21 at 9 a.m. and end Sunday, September 22 at 9 a.m. There will be live music, yoga, a spin class and much more. Click here to view the full list of events.
