Tampa Bay Buccaneers star Baker Mayfield has been one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL … in a surprising way.
A recent piece by Pro Football Network rank Mayfield at No. 12 … maybe in part because of last week’s failure.
“Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers slipped up last Sunday with a disappointing loss to the Denver Broncos. Mayfield threw for just 163 yards and one touchdown to go along with one pick,” PFF writes, “He still is average or better in EPA and other passing metrics, but he’s dragged down in our rankings with the 26th clutch grade.”

The loss in Week 3 is a reality. But so is the fact that Mayfield led the Buccaneers to their fourth straight 2-0 start. … and that coming off their playoff win at year ago over a then-reeling Eagles team.
Philly is now 2-1, as are the Bucs. There will be no room for “disrespect” in this Sunday NFL Week 4 matchup in Florida. And why?
The Eagles can remind themselves of the “why” when they review stats. He is top-five in the league in completion percentage, in passer rating, and in passing touchdowns … and as much as he slings it around, Mayfield and he has done all of this with just two interceptions.
