Christopher “Chris” McGarvey was killed in a crash at 11:47 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, his ex-wife, Coleen McGarvey, said in the GoFundMe.
“Chris was a veteran who served multiple tours overseas with the US Army,” according to the GoFundMe campaign. “If you knew Chris you were lucky, because you knew that you had a good friend! You would also know how much he loved his kids.”
McGarvey, a Philadelphia resident, was struck by a transit bus at Bartram Avenue and North Governor Printz Boulevard in Tinicum, according to the DelCo Times. He died at 11:37 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28 in Crozer-Chester Medical Center.
The Delaware County Medical Examiner’s Office did not immediately return Daily Voice’s request for information.
McGarvey leaves behind his ex-wife, Coleen McGarvey, and three children: Addalyn, Chase, and Laeghanna,” the GoFundMe says.
The campaign is meant to fund a celebration of life in his honor. Any additional funds raised will go directly to the children, according to the campaign. It has raised $2,425 of $2,500 goal as of Friday, Oct. 4.
