Two life sentences for man who killed Wilmington TikTok star Swavy and local entrepreneur

A young man will spend the rest of his life in prison for the killings of a local TikTok star and another young entrepreneur in 2021.

Israel Lecompte, 20, was sentenced earlier this month to two mandatory life sentences plus 163 years for the murder of 22-year-old Quinton Dorsey and 19-year-old Matima Miller.

Dorsey was building a following as a clothing designer and entrepreneur under his Bag Season brand . Miller was known online as Swavy on TikTok, where millions of followers watched him style and dance around the city and beyond.

Lecompte had just turned 18 years old when Miller and Dorsey were murdered so his first-degree murder conviction mandates a life sentence without chance of parole.

Earlier this year, a jury heard three weeks of trial testimony and convicted him of the two murders, as well as a slew of other charges related to another, non-fatal shooting and multiple robberies that occurred in the summer of 2021.
