Bordentown’s Board of Education, Regional Education Assoc. Seem No Closer to Contract Agreement

BORDENTOWN, NJ – The Bordentown Regional School District Board of Education and Bordentown Regional Education Association appeared to remain at odds on Tuesday, October 15, regarding the latter group’s expired contract.

In a letter to the editor the Bordentown Regional Education Association (BREA) sent to TAPinto Bordentown on Wednesday, October 9, the BREA wrote it has “asked the Board simply for fairness, for equity and recognition of our work by providing us with pay that is within the means of our community and that meets the average salaries of teachers across the entirety of Burlington County.”

The BREA also alleged the Board was not willing to participate in what BREA called “meaningful negotiations” and alleged the Board takes part in “fiscally irresponsible behavior, and (its) ongoing refusal to negotiate a fair contract… (is) an outright dismissal of your child’s future and the values of this community: hard work, dedication, responsibility – and respect.”
