A Bristol man will spend more than four years in prison for attempting to assault a security officer with a knife outside a Philadelphia courthouse last year.
U.S. District Judge Nitza I. Quinones ordered Anthony Lombardo, 46, to serve 54 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release in the January 17, 2023 incident.
Authorities say that Lombardo drove to the James A. Byrne federal courthouse at Seventh and Market streets and pulled his vehicle into a no-parking zone.
When a private court security officer on routine patrol approached the vehicle, Lombardo got out with a large kitchen knife in his hand. As Lombardo allegedly approached the security officer he was shot twice.
While first responders were treating Lombardo they discovered a second kitchen knife hidden in his shirtsleeve and homemade hard plastic body armor attached to his chest and midsection.
