Mt. Laurel Police Dept. Highlights Recent Arrests, Investigations

MOUNT LAUREL, NJ

— The Mount Laurel Police Department (MLPD) is highlighting recent investigations and arrests that have taken place in the Township through a new community reporting system. The MLPD rolled out a new feature to its website earlier this year in which residents can sign up to receive a weekly e-newsletter delivered to their inboxes that summarizes the number of investigation reports, calls for service motor vehicle collisions and overdoses that have taken place throughout the week. The newsletter also highlights specific investigations and arrest incidents. The latest report details incidents that occurred from November 6 through November 12. Highlights include:

  • A Mount Laurel police officer attempted a motor vehicle stop on Route 73 on November 6 at 8:20AM before the vehicle eluded police, eventually colliding with a curb and becoming disabled. The male driver from Camden, NJ fled on foot but was later found in a business in Evesham and was apprehended with the assistance from Evesham police officers. The vehicle he was driving was confirmed stolen from Pemberton Township, and the driver was charged with receiving stolen property and eluding. He was committed to the Burlington County Jail on a warrant.
  • On November 8 at 2:34PM, Mount Laurel officers responded to a shoplifting report on Nixon Drive. The suspect stole 10 jackets worth about $700 and pushed passed a store employee when confronted. The suspects remain unknown. The burglary and terroristic threats investigation is ongoing. While investigating the same incident, officers were told by the same employee that unknown suspects had shattered the rear door on November 8, causing about $2,000 in damage. Several items were found near the door, but nothing appeared stolen. The investigation into the incident remains open.
