The Philadelphia Eagles are 12-3, hold first place in the NFC East, and are the No. 2 seed in the conference, which is all amazing.
However, during their most recent game against the Washington Commanders, star quarterback Jalen Hurts had to leave due to a concussion.
Of course, everyone can return from concussions in different time frames, but in the Eagles’ most recent injury report , he was listed as “did not practice.”
To make matters worse, backup Kenny Pickett was also listed as “limited” with a rib injury.
With that in mind, the Eagles seem to have taken a proactive measure and signed quarterback Ian Book to their practice squad.
Of course, if Hurts cannot pass concussion protocol soon enough, which is a lengthy five-phase process , and Pickett’s rib injury also makes him unavailable, there’s a real chance Book could be the backup behind Tanner McKee on Sunday.
If that’s the case, then the Eagles could be in trouble because Book has completed 12-of-20 passes for 20 yards in his career since being drafted by the Saints in the fourth round in 2021.
