‘Beef Bandit’ shot to death in Roxborough, in what police say was targeted killing

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A Philadelphia man who pleaded guilty last month to charges connected with stealing thousands of dollars worth of beef was shot and killed in Roxborough Tuesday night. Police believe he was targeted.

Officers were called to the Ridge Court apartments near the ShopRite along Ridge Avenue around 9:15 p.m. That’s where they found 32-year-old Tariq Duncan shot several times throughout his body. He was rushed to the hospital and was pronounced dead soon after.

Two weeks ago, Duncan pleaded guilty to charges connected to the theft of $7,000 worth of beef in the Holmesburg section of the city last September…
