Aggressive raccoon caught after infecting person and dog in N.J. with rabies

An aggressive raccoon that attacked a dog and a person in two separate incidents in Collingswood last week has tested positive for rabies, according to Camden County Health Department.

A Collingswood resident called animal control on April 8 to report that their dog got into a fight with raccoon at their home, officials said. However, animal control was unable to locate the raccoon.

The next day, on April 9, another resident reported an incident with a raccoon while walking. The raccoon was retrieved by animal control and sent for testing at the New Jersey Department of Health Laboratory, authorities said…
