Hairdresser Denied Bail in Plot to Kill Officer Ex-Boyfriend

A Camden County judge has denied bail for Jaclyn Diiorio, the 26-year-old hairdresser accused of orchestrating a murder-for-hire plot targeting her Philadelphia police officer ex-boyfriend and his teenage daughter. During Friday’s detention hearing, prosecutors presented text messages and recorded conversations as evidence of Diiorio’s alleged plan to pay $12,000 for the killings, according to FOX 29 Philadelphia .

Diiorio, a Runnemede resident with no prior criminal history, faces two counts of first-degree attempted murder and one count of first-degree conspiracy to commit murder, charges that could result in decades of prison time if convicted.

Tinder Connection Led to Arrest

Court documents reveal Diiorio connected with a confidential informant through the dating app Tinder in late March, initially meeting for what appeared to be romantic purposes. During subsequent conversations, she allegedly expressed a desire to have her ex-boyfriend killed, according to The Blaze .

On April 3, the informant notified the Camden County Major Crimes Unit about the murder plot. The following day, under police surveillance, Diiorio allegedly provided a $500 cash down payment during a meeting at a Dollar General parking lot in Gloucester Township, where she was subsequently arrested.

Daughter Targeted First

Assistant Prosecutor Deitz presented evidence during the hearing indicating Diiorio wanted the daughter killed before the officer. “She wanted to kill the victim’s teenage daughter because the killing of a police officer would draw too much scrutiny from law enforcement,” Deitz stated in court, explaining the defendant’s alleged reasoning that fewer resources would be dedicated to investigating the daughter’s death…
