Woman fatally shot at close range outside North Philly church, police say

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A woman was shot and killed near a North Philadelphia church early Friday morning. Police believe she was targeted, and they are looking for whoever pulled the trigger.

Shortly before 1 a.m., police responded to 911 calls for reports of gunshots at 20th Street and Lehigh Avenue.

Officers found a bleeding woman by a metal fence in front of Deliverance Evangelistic Church. She had been shot in the head, face and chest, and there were eight spent shell casings near her body, according to Chief Inspector Scott Small…
