Man charged in Kensington road rage shooting that injured bystander, police say

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A 40-year-old man has been charged after police said he shot a woman who was a bystander during a road rage incident in the Kensington section of the city.

Authorities said Eric Franklin shot a woman while he was trying to shoot a 29-year-old driver during a confrontation the morning of Friday, July 18, on the 600 block of East Indiana Avenue. That driver returned fire.

During the exchange, police said Franklin shot a 27-year-old woman in the abdomen who was standing nearby. The woman was taken to a hospital where she remains in critical condition…
