Graduation Party Turns Tragic: Mom and Kids Among 4 Shot in North Philly

In North Philadelphia Thursday night, a celebration turned into chaos just after 9:30 p.m. on the 2300 block of North Lambert Street, according to police reports from Chief Inspector Scott Small, cited in a WPVI‑TV article with updates from July 25, 2025. A mother, her two children, and an unrelated man were shot during an outdoor graduation party.

Inspector Small said surveillance video shows a suspect walking eastbound on Lambert Street, drawing a firearm and firing roughly 10 shots northbound before fleeing on foot in dark clothing with light-colored shoes. The victims—a 36-year‑old woman shot in the back, an 11‑year‑old boy hit in the arm and leg, a 13‑year‑old girl struck in the abdomen, and a 45‑year‑old man wounded in the arm—were all transported to hospital in critical condition.
