Suspected gunman arrested in Nicetown triple shooting

A 33-year-old man was apprehended after three victims were injured in a shooting that happened in Philadelphia’s Nicetown neighborhood early Sunday morning.

According to police, Shomari Betancourt, 33, has been apprehended after he showed up at an area hospital at about 8 a.m. on Sunday morning with a gunshot wound to his left arm.

Police said Betancourt was charged with attempted murder, gun violations and related offenses in connection with an incident that happened at about 5:26 a.m. at the intersection of Roberts Ave. and Stokley Street in Philly’s Nicetown section on Sunday, July 27, 2025…
