Family demands justice after hit-and-run crash leaves Philly man brain-dead

A retired Philadelphia police officer is demanding justice after her son was struck by a hit-and-run driver in the city’s Cobbs Creek neighborhood, leaving him brain-dead.

“My son was a gentle soul,” Angela McDonald told NBC10 on Friday. “He was a very humble person. He was an introvert. He loved his family and he loved his mother.”

Angela McDonald’s son, 32-year-old Mark McDonald, was walking on 58th and Delancey streets on Thursday around 3 a.m. when he was struck by a dark-colored Jeep Cherokee that fled the scene. NBC10 obtained video showing the crash which police say knocked McDonald out of his shoes…
