PECO announces one-time $10M customer relief fund

The Philadelphia Electric Company, also known as PECO, announced Thursday it would provide a one-time fund of $10 million to help limited and moderate-income customers manage rising energy costs this summer.

The PECO Customer Relief Fund, administered by the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey, will help PECO customers across Southeastern Pennsylvania. Supported by Exelon, PECO’s parent company, the fund will provide one-time grants of $500 for qualifying customers.

“PECO has deep roots in our community and we’re proud to do our part during this challenging time as local families struggle with overall inflation pressures, including energy bills,” David Vahos, PECO’s president and CEO, said. “PECO provides a critical service that keeps our communities safe, healthy and strong. The PECO Customer Relief Fund allows us to provide immediate relief for customers struggling with high energy supply costs while continuing to work with state and local officials on forward-looking solutions.”…
