Nurses at Paoli Hospital in suburban Philadelphia recently received some unexpected help with their student loans thanks to a $1-million donation from an anonymous donor. Nurse Tangi Raysor, who was working a 12-hour shift when she received the surprising email announcing the good news, says she was “instantly in shock” when she read it.
The donor had previously given $1-million to Lankenau Medical Center and decided to extend the gesture to Paoli Hospital. Bernadette Weis, the hospital’s vice president of patient services, says her “jaw dropped” when she was informed of the gift.
