Mexican National Arrested at Philadelphia Airport on Delaware Warrant Alleging Fatal Vehicle Offense

PHILADELPHIA, PA — U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers arrested a 29-year-old Mexican national at Philadelphia International Airport on Saturday after learning she was wanted in Delaware on charges connected to a fatal vehicle incident.

Officials said CBP officers intercepted Angelica M. Escobar-Castaneda of New Castle, Delaware, as she prepared to board a flight to Mexico City. Escobar-Castaneda, a Mexican citizen and lawful permanent resident of the United States, was identified as the subject of an active warrant for operating a vehicle causing the death of another.

CBP officers confirmed the warrant with the Delaware Attorney General’s Office before taking Escobar-Castaneda into custody. She was turned over to Tinicum Township Police to begin extradition proceedings to Delaware…
