BENSALEM, Pa. – A Philadelphia man barred from owning firearms was arrested Thursday night after shots were fired in the parking lot of the Knights Inn Motel on Route 1, police said.
Officers responded around 9:11 p.m. after a driver reported that an unknown object shattered the rear window of his vehicle as he passed through the lot. Another witness told police he saw a black male fire two rounds from a handgun while standing outside.
Investigators traced the gunman to room 185, which was registered to Steven Kilcrest, 38, of Knorr Street, Philadelphia. As officers secured the area, Kilcrest exited the room unarmed and was taken into custody without incident. A search of the room turned up a .40-caliber Hi-Point semi-automatic handgun loaded with one round in the chamber and five in the magazine. Two spent shell casings were also recovered from the scene…
