Former Manor College finance officer, 2 others accused in $714,000 theft scheme

ABINGTON — A former administrator at Manor College in Abington Township, his romantic partner, and a Philadelphia man are accused of taking part in a scheme to steal more than $700,000 from the institution.

Arion Jonathan Singh, 41, of the 1200 block of Huntington Pike, Huntingdon Valley, the former vice president of finance at the college, Sydney Elise Loveless, 39, of Chicago, identified in court documents as Singh’s romantic partner, and Amar D. Persad, 46, of the 200 block of Levick Street, Philadelphia, were arraigned on multiple theft-related charges in connection with alleged incidents that occurred between March 2023 and March 2025.

“This small college, where 60 percent of its students are first-generation college students, was taken advantage of by their trusted financial officer,” Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele said as he announced the arrests. “As soon as the theft was discovered, college administrators reported it to law enforcement and cooperated fully in the investigation.”…
