Search Underway After 25-Year-Old Woman Jumps From Tacony-Palmyra Bridge Into Delaware River

Philadelphia, PA — Rescue crews from multiple agencies are searching for a 25-year-old woman who reportedly jumped from the Tacony-Palmyra Bridge into the Delaware River on Saturday evening, according to officials.

The incident was reported around 5:30 p.m. Saturday, prompting an immediate response from both New Jersey and Pennsylvania authorities. The bridge, which connects Burlington County, New Jersey, to Philadelphia, was temporarily closed as crews began rescue operations.

Coast Guard Leads Search Efforts

Officials said a boat crew from Coast Guard Station Philadelphia and an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew from Air Station Atlantic City were deployed to assist in the search. Crews scanned the river late into the night and resumed operations at first light Sunday morning, Coast Guard representatives confirmed.
