Philadelphia man charged after check fraud investigation involving North Haven business

NORTH HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — North Haven Police Department detectives have extradited a Philadelphia resident and charged him with larceny and forgery after a check fraud investigation that lasted around a year.

According to the North Haven Police Department, officers received a report of large-scale bank fraud involving a North Haven business that lost more than $250,000 after an allegedly altered check was deposited in Philadelphia.

North Haven detectives investigated financial institutions, cell phones and social media, eventually identifying the suspect as 37-year-old Brandon Segers of Philadelphia…
