SEPTA union members unanimously vote to authorize strike if needed

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Members of SEPTA’s largest union voted Sunday to authorize a strike. The 5,000 bus, subway, and trolley operators represented by the Transportation Workers Union Local 234 are still working while negotiations continue.

Local 234 President Will Vera said he’s not yet ready to call a strike.

“I’m proud to say that my members unanimously voted yes, giving me the leverage to call a strike if needed at the time. I can say that I am not, at this moment, ready to call a strike,” he said…
