Temple University police are trading in their badges for books as they launch “Cops in the Classroom,” a weekly community program designed to spark a love of reading among elementary students in North Philadelphia.
According to the Temple University Police Department, each week officers will rotate visiting two nearby schools, Paul L. Dunbar School and the Tanner G. Duckrey School, to read to students, share stories about their favorite childhood books, and encourage students to continue reading.
