City offers grant program to help Philly residents impacted by government shutdown

Philadelphia officials announced a new rental assistance program for federal employees living in the city who were unable to pay rent during the recent federal government shutdown.

The One Philly Federal Furloughed Renter Relief Program—created by the City of Philadelphia in partnership with the Division of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) and PHDC—will provide a one-time $1,000 grant to eligible renters.

Applications are now open and will be accepted through Dec. 12, or until funding runs out…
