PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia City Council has given preliminary approval to a bill giving the Philadelphia Parking Authority the green light to refurbish and operate the vacant bus terminal at 10th and Filbert streets.
Under the plan, starting Jan. 1, 2026, the PPA would charge bus companies a $40 fee for each stop made in the city — a rate reduced from $169. PPA Executive Director Rich Lazer told city council’s finance committee on Wednesday that those fees would fund a renovation of the Greyhound terminal.
“Fix some core functions of the building, upgrade the heating and air systems, redo the bathrooms, the flooring, kind of beautify the space. It’s been dormant for some time,” Lazer said…
