Suspect Faces Charges After Carjacking Woman and Stealing Police Cruiser in Philadelphia Chase

A chaotic sequence of events unfolded in the Frankford neighborhood of Philadelphia on Friday, starting with a woman being carjacked at gunpoint and culminating in the theft of a Philadelphia police vehicle by the same suspect. NBC10 reports that the incident began near Race and Robinson streets around 6:30 p.m. when a 21-year-old man allegedly robbed a woman of her car, armed with a firearm.

Officers tracked the stolen car using OnStar. According to 6abc, the carjacking victim had safely exited her vehicle when the suspect sped away. A police helicopter assisted officers as they pursued the suspect.
