Philadelphia Mourns as Teenager is Fatally Shot on Temple University Campus, DA Larry Krasner Vows Justice and Support

The city reels from yet another heartbreaking episode of gun violence as Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner confirmed the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old student on Temple University’s campus on Monday night. In a heartfelt response to the tragedy, Krasner issued a statement, expressing the District Attorney’s Office’s solidarity with the bereaved and the Philadelphia community at large.

According to the Office of the District Attorney, the Homicide & Non-Fatal Shooting Unit of the District Attorney’s Office is currently working alongside the Philadelphia Police Department to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting, which occurred at a local Chipotle, while various units from the DAO’s External Engagement & Government Affairs Division are also involved, offering support to those affected on the scene and the school visit from Krasner and Councilmember Cindy Bass provided a space for trauma care and grief counseling in wake of the incident, with a focus on students, teachers, and staff.
