Meteorologists are watching a high-altitude disturbance diving out of Canada on Thursday, which could deepen over the East Coast by Saturday, forming a strong surface low-pressure system. When that system collides with the very cold air mass already in place, it could produce widespread heavy precipitation across the region—from Washington, D.C., to Boston, and yes, right through the Philadelphia area.
