PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP — A Westmoreland County man is accused of embezzling more than $246,000 in corporate funds while working as the volunteer treasurer for a nonprofit organization once headquartered in Plymouth Township.
Michael Fantuzzo, 40, of Lower Burrell, was arraigned before District Court Judge Maureen C. Coggins on felony charges of theft by unlawful taking or disposition and theft by deception in connection with alleged incidents that occurred between 2021 and 2024 while he was the volunteer treasurer for the Pennsylvania Occupational Therapy Association.
The trade association that serves the professional interests of the occupational therapy profession in Pennsylvania was headquartered on West Germantown Pike in Plymouth Meeting at the time of the alleged theft.
Fantuzzo, who surrendered to authorities on Feb. 6, was released on $100,000 unsecured bail to await his Feb. 17 preliminary hearing on the charges before District Court Judge Jodi Griffis…
