CHERRY HILL, NJ — Hazem Abdalla’s father meant everything to him. So, when Eid Abdalla developed dementia, Hazem cut his work hours to give him more time to care for his dad.
On the night of Jan. 31, a neighbor told Hazem Abdalla to rush home immediately. He arrived to find the Cherry Hill house that he and his father shared was engulfed in flames.
Eid Abdalla, 69, died in the fire. Hazem says Eid was his only close family member, so the fire left him homeless and without immediate family.
