NORRISTOWN — A member of the Pagans Outlaw Motorcycle Gang wants a judge to reduce bail that has kept him behind bars while he awaits trial on charges he conspired with eight other club members during a confrontation and shooting involving a rival biker gang on the parking lot of the Wawa in West Norriton Township.
George Hripto Jr., 50, of the 200 block of East Fourth Street, Bridgeport, who is currently incarcerated at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility on $500,000 cash bail, argued in a bail reduction petition that the amount is “effectively unattainable” and that he and his family have “suffered significant hardship” due to his continued detention.
“This has caused severe emotional and financial distress and results in a de facto detention based solely on indigency, raising serious due process and equal protection concerns. If (Hripto) had the financial means to post bail, he would already be released,” defense lawyer John D’Intino Jr. wrote in court documents…
