In two separate incidents on Tuesday, members of the Philadelphia Fire Department demonstrated their commitment to public safety, carrying out daring rescues to save three individuals from perilous situations. According to a social media post from the PFD, Rescue 1 and Squad 47 were dispatched to the Schuylkill River where they conducted a high-stakes extraction of a person from the icy waters below the JFK Bridge. A firefighter was lowered to the individual, who was then secured and hoisted up to safety.
