In what police are investigating as an attempted murder-suicide, a tragedy unfolded in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, where a man and a woman with a shared past and children in common became the epicenter of an early morning shooting incident. According to FOX29, police were summoned to the 300 block of Milne Street around 4 a.m. on Friday, finding a 26-year-old man deceased with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, and a 29-year-old woman critically injured from multiple gunshot wounds to her body.
Arriving at the horrific scene, police located the woman inside the home, still fighting for life, before she was transported to Temple University Hospital. Listed in critical condition, the two were former lovers, now cornered by violence, their futures uncertain, their past a tapestry of shared memories and shared bloodlines. Children were found at the premises during the shooting, who were reported to be between the ages of nine months and nine years old, by 6ABC. Fortunately, none were physically harmed.
Further investigation by authorities revealed that the woman had been staying at her family’s home—where the incident occurred—a detail muddying the waters of motive and intentions. “They were involved in a relationship at one time.
