Conduct board wants Philly judge accused of strangling woman to be suspended

The Pennsylvania Judicial Conduct Board has asked the courts to suspend a Philadelphia judge accused of beating two women in his home. He’s been arrested on assault and strangulation charges.

The Philadelphia County District Attorney’s Office accused Michael Fanning, 61, of punching a woman, dragging her to the ground and strangling her while in a home on the 9600 block of Milnor Street in Philadelphia this week.

At around 8:45 a.m. Monday, Fanning punched the woman multiple times in the head and face and choked her, affecting her ability to breath, the DA’s office said…
