Animal welfare officers in Philadelphia are asking for help after rescuing nearly two dozen cats from a parked, abandoned car.
According to a Facebook post shared by the Pennsylvania SPCA on Friday, Feb. 27, the group’s Animal Law Enforcement team received a call about multiple cats crawling inside a vehicle in the Kensington area.
The caller initially reported about 8 to 10 felines in the car; however, the organization noted that the number of felines crammed inside the vehicle was far larger. The Dodo reported that rescuers counted 20 cats when they looked inside the car, but ultimately removed 29 felines from the vehicle.
“Far more cats than reported were crammed inside a small white Chrysler,” the Pennsylvania SPCA wrote in its post. Officers began carefully removing the animals from the vehicle and transporting them to the shelter for care…
