Man arrested in counterfeit cash investigation in Luzerne County

DALLAS, LUZERNE CO. (WOLF) — Police in Luzerne County have arrested a Philadelphia man in connection with a counterfeit currency investigation dating back to December.

According to Dallas Township Police, officers were first alerted on December 8, 2025, after a report of fake money being used at the Grain & Berry store along Memorial Highway. Investigators reviewed surveillance video and gathered witness statements, leading to the identification of three suspects.

Police say the group allegedly passed counterfeit $50 bills with identical serial numbers during separate transactions on December 6. Authorities believe the suspects arrived together in a dark-colored SUV but entered the store individually to make purchases…
