Teen Shot, Wanted Suspect Nabbed After North Philly Foot Chase

A 19-year-old man is recovering in stable condition after being shot in the lower back and hip Tuesday night on a North Philadelphia block where officers were already close enough to hear the gunfire, police said.

The shooting happened around 10 p.m. on the 1800 block of North Woodstock Street. According to police, officers in the area heard shots ring out and then saw two men take off in different directions. After a brief foot chase, both were caught. Investigators later determined that one of the men was the wounded 19-year-old and the other was the suspected shooter, according to police.

According to NBC10, officers recovered a semi-automatic handgun with an extended magazine at the scene, along with five spent shell casings. The alleged gunman is described as a 28-year-old man who, police said, already had multiple outstanding arrest warrants…
