Philadelphia outlines security plans as World Cup preparations ramp up

City, state and federal law enforcement agencies are preparing for what officials say will be one of the largest security operations in Philadelphia’s history as the city gets ready to host six FIFA World Cup matches this summer at Lincoln Financial Field.

“It’s almost like the Super Bowl, only we’re having six of them over a total of 18 days,” said Maj. Richard D’Ambrosio, Area IV commander for the Pennsylvania State Police.
