PHOENIX (AZFamily) — High temperatures have reached 105 degrees so far today. Our First Alert Day continues because of the fire danger. A Red Flag Warning remains in effect for much of southern Arizona, including the Phoenix metro area, until 11 p.m. due to critical fire weather conditions.
Residents are urged to avoid activities that could create sparks or open flames. Gusty southwest winds of up to 20 mph will continue at times through this evening before gradually diminishing overnight.
Sunday will begin with partly cloudy skies and morning temperatures in the upper 70s. Afternoon highs will climb to around 105 degrees, with occasional wind gusts near 20 mph developing once again. Although the Red Flag Warning will no longer be in effect for the Phoenix metro area, fire danger will remain elevated, so caution is still advised…
