Developing tropical system boosts rain chances across Arizona

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Look for sunny, dry and slightly warmer conditions today in the Valley with a forecast high of 101 degrees.

Storm chances are down statewide, with only about a 20 percent chance of monsoon rain in the high country. This includes at the Grand Canyon.

Drier air advecting into Arizona will cut storm chances today and tomorrow, but rain chances climb again starting Thursday. A tropical system is expected to develop in the next 24 hours in the Pacific, eventually drawing moisture into Arizona and the Southwest.
