PEORIA, AZ (AZFamily) — A Peoria husband and wife are facing allegations that they abused two girls by denying them food and water, tying one of them up at night and hitting them with a belt.
Officers were called to the apartment complex of Jose Carrillo Ayala, 49, and Jennifer Carrillo, 50, on 83rd Avenue near Greenway Road on June 14, 2025, after their neighbor found a 9-year-old girl hiding on his patio, saying her parents were trying to drag her out, court paperwork said.
When officers talked to the girl, they said she told them that she had gotten into trouble for “holding a book” wrong and that she was outside for four hours. Police said the high temperature for that day was 104 degrees.
She got hungry and thirsty, so she climbed over a balcony wall into her downstairs neighbor’s patio…
