70-year-old victim identified in fatal Phoenix shooting

Phoenix police Tuesday identified William Mielke, 70, as the person killed last week in a shooting.

Police responded about 6:20 a.m. Feb. 6 to the southbound Black Canyon Access Road just north of Cactus Road and found a man who was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy revealed the victim had a gunshot would from a small-caliber weapon.

Authorities are investigating the homicide and ask anyone with information to call Silent Witness at 480(WITNESS) or 480(TESTIGO) and provide an anonymous tip. Rewards will be paid for information leading to an arrest, police said.
