Queen Creek’s Mansel Carter Oasis Park expansion opens July 10

Queen Creek residents will finally get their chance to enjoy the 13-acre expansion of Mansel Carter Oasis Park.

A ribbon cutting for Phase 2 of the park takes place at 7:30 a.m., Monday, July 10, at 19535 E. Appleby Road. Following the ribbon cutting there will be a free tennis clinic from 7:45 to 8:45 a.m.

The park’s new section includes a pump track, tennis courts, volleyball courts, pickleball courts, additional restrooms and parking, and passive green space. The expansion was designed by J2 Design and built by Haydon, a town press release stated.

The expansion completes Mansel Carter Oasis, which first opened in 2018.

Amenities found on the original 48 acres of the park include two lighted multipurpose fields, four lighted baseball fields, a playground, two sand volleyball courts, a 5-acre fishing lake, a skate plaza and the popular shipwreck-themed splash pad.

On June 8, the town opened its newest public park, Frontier Family Park. The 85-acre park, located on Signal Butte Road north of Queen Creek Road, boasts 24 pickleball courts, three multipurpose fields, six baseball/softball fields, two sand volleyball courts, two basketball courts, a 5-acre fishing lake and an inclusive playground.
