A 15-year-old is dead after being stabbed in an Ahwatukee neighborhood, Phoenix police said.
Officers responded to an emergency call just after 3 a.m. Nov. 16 near 3800 East Lakewood Parkway, according to a Phoenix Police Department release.
Jaylen Reeves was found suffering from a stab wound “that developed from a verbal altercation between two groups of juveniles,” the release stated.
The boy was taken to a hospital where he was treated for life-threatening injuries, but he died from the stabbing, police said.
Detectives investigated and learned that Reeves was with a group of friends when a fight started between Reeves and the unidentified “suspect(s) which resulted in the stabbing,” police said.
