Another Pancake Mix Sold in AZ: Recall ‘Highest Threat Level’

There’s a reason food companies are required to list ingredients on the label. For most of us, this may not be a risk. However, if you or someone in your household has an allergy, this could be a deadly mix-up.

Issuing a Recall for Undeclared Ingredient in This Product

This popular product was sold in stores across Arizona, and it could be sitting in your pantry right now. If you’ve got a box of Pearl Milling Company Original Pancake & Waffle Mix, make sure you take a look at it.

Quaker Oats issued a recall for 10,000 boxes of this mix due to undeclared milk on the label. The FDA has classified this recall as Class I, the highest risk level.

Why This Matters

Most people have no trouble consuming milk or milk products, but for anyone with milk allergies or severe sensitivities, ingesting this mix could lead to serious or even life-threatening allergic reactions.

A milk allergy can cause symptoms from mild hives to severe anaphylaxis. Anaphylaxis is a reaction where blood pressure suddenly drops and the airways narrow, which blocks breathing.

For anyone with this allergy, avoiding this product if you’re allergic to milk is crucial.

What to Look for On Packaging for Pancake Mix Recall

If you’re in Arizona, check if you’ve purchased this pancake mix.

Check the product code on the UPC seal. If it reads UPC code 30000 65040 and a best-by date of September 13, 2025, toss it in the trash.
