Phoenix furniture business didn’t fulfill orders in a timely matter, owes customers $32K

The co-owner and manager of a Phoenix custom wood furniture business has agreed to pay nearly $32,000 in restitution to customers for not fulfilling orders, thereby resolving an investigation by the Arizona Attorney General’s Office that landed in Maricopa County Superior Court.

Urban Wood LLC and part-owner Victoria DeWitte will pay the money over 36 weeks to resolve complaints involving at least 10 customers of not fulfilling orders placed and paid for online. Nor did the company offer timely refunds in these cases. The furniture typically wasn’t delivered for at least 16 weeks.

Without admitting guilt or wrongdoing, DeWitte also agreed to refrain from engaging in deceptive practices or making false advertising statements…
