According to the Arizona Weatherman, a low-pressure center will form to the north of Arizona in Colorado, accompanied by an associated cold front pushed by an intense polar front jet. This will bring powerful, gusty winds for Arizona from Monday, March 31, 2025, to Wednesday, April 2, 2025. Additionally, snow showers, rain, and colder temperatures are expected going into Wednesday.
The upper-level polar front jet will trough over central Arizona by Tuesday evening with a maximum jet max speed of 175 mph. Bringing in snow and rain showers to northern Arizona for Wednesday. The precipitation will not result in a very significant accumulation. Expect 1-2 inches of snow in Flagstaff, rain showers in Payson and Prescott, and possible very light rain in Phoenix, with less than 0.05 inches of precipitation. So, although it’s not a significant precipitation event for the state, some is better than none.
